DIY Macrame Hanging Shelf Tutorial

Supplies for DIY Macrame Hanging Shelf

• 8 x 5 meters/197 inches 3mm 3-ply cords by Nook Theory in Blush
• 2 X 50 cm/20 inches 3mm 3-ply cords by Nook Theory for making 2 gathering knots
• 1 x small wooden or metal ring
• 1 x small shelf (or bowl/tray)

Written Instructions DIY Macrame Hanging Shelf Tutorial:

Step 1: Fold your 8 cords of 5 meters/197 inches in half and pull them evenly through the wooden ring. Make a Gathering Knot.

Step 2: This tray hanger has 4 sections for which the pattern repeats. Select 4 cords that are close to each other and make 20 Spiral Knots.

Step 3: Skip 15 cm/6 inches and make 3 Switch Knots.

Step 4: Skip 15 cm/6 inches and make 20 Spiral Knots.

Step 5: Skip 15 cm/6 inches (or more if you prefer more space or have extra cord left over) and make 10 Square Knots. Repeat Steps 2, 3, and 4 for each section.

Step 6: Fit your tray and make another Gathering Knot. Cut off all excess cords and create a fringe if you like!
