Most Macrame curtains are made with natural 5 mm 3-ply Macrame cords. These thicker cords are perfect for larger projects and will last you a long time!
You can make the pattern as easy or complicated as you like. When you’re more experienced, you can choose to add many knots, and when you’re a beginner looking to make a simple Macrame curtain you can opt for a pattern with fewer knots.
How much cord is needed for a DIY Macrame curtain?
Depending on the size of your window and the pattern you’ve chosen, a Macrame curtain can require around 100 meters/328 feet or more of Macrame cords. To make sure you can knot with such long cords, you can bundle the ends to work faster.
