Macrame Baby Cradle Project Details

Size of the Macrame baby cradle

The baby cradle is 190 cm tall and 87 cm long. It fits a standard European baby mattress of 40 x 80 cm.

Materials for the Macrame baby cradle

Macrame Cord
654 meters of 5mm braided or twisted Macrame cord

This tutorial uses 5mm cotton braided cords. If those are not available to you, alternatively, you can also use a 5mm twisted Macrame cord, like this low-budget 300-meter spool on Amazon.

Baby Cradle Parts
The cradle frame and bottom are made of plywood. The cradle can hang from the ceiling or be used with a freestanding hammock chair stand.

The tutorial includes detailed diagrams of all parts of the baby cradle, which you can take to a hardware store or wood shop to have the pieces cut to size.
